Pyrometers with rugged mono fibre optics are typically used in high ambient temperature appliactions without cooling. The fibre optic cable and optical head can withstand a maximum of 250°C easily and the pyrometer end up to 70°C. Fibre optic models can tolerate electromagnetic fields.
