Description
The ceramic design is a lightweight design that typically uses a short platinum thimble, which reduces the amount of platinum required for the sensor. Great care must be taken with this design, as the ceramic sheath is prone to thermal shock, which can cause the thermocouple to fail and the platinum thimble to be lost in the forehearth.
