Mr David Searson, Production Manager at York Precision Plastics, has been using RKC controllers for 20 years. He called on Pyrosales to help him upgrade one of York’s Riverwood factory extrusion lines using the quality range of RKC melt pressure instruments. “When problems occur in plastics extrusion, you need to isolate the different factors one by one,” says David. “With RKC controllers, I can be sure that temperature and melt pressure control aren’t going to be a problem. You can’t go past RKC for precision and reliability.”

With the help of Pyrosales, David has installed an RKC HA930 melt pressure controller and MPI melt pressure probe into one of York’s existing extrusion lines. “With these components,we had our extruder up and running within two hours, and were soon extruding a  high quality product,” David says. “Our first production run operated on HIPS material from 7am till 9pm  – 14 hours straight with no rejected sheets. Our shift was completed two hours earlier than would have  been the case with the brand of controller we previously used.”
